Winding the GMT II, Perhaps Too Much?

I have been giving the GMT some rest lately, switching time between a few other watches periodically during the week. I do not own a watch winder, so of course I end up having to wind the Rolex GMT II perhaps once maybe twice per week. Now, I am sure this has been discussed however, could not find anything on this topic.
Does anyone know if I can wind the watch once, twice per week (assuming it runs out of juice) without causing damage to the watch? My guess is that it is O.K. since the movement is robust however, your thoughts are appreciated.

My AD told me 40 turns is sufficient if it stops.

no problem at all with winding the watch twice a week.....or even everyday....

although you could cause more wear to the screw threads on the crown and crown tube......

Now first you can wind any auto Rolex as much as you like will not damage them in any way.Now if you are going to rest any watch,just let it stop.Then when you want to wear again,just wind reset time date,it only take a matter of seconds.Now if you rest a watch for any period of time,just give them a few winds say once a month,to keep movement oiled..Now myself have several manual winds,with screw down crowns.Been wearing and winding them for more years than I care to remember,without any problem whats so ever.

Seriously (to stay on-topic ), Peter is absolutely correct when he says "...you can wind any auto Rolex as much as you like [and it] will not damage them in any way..." That's it in a nutshell. No more discussion necessary.

I am in going to begin looking for a watch winder however, thanks for the info. I am not a winding freak actually; I do not even wind my watches so long as I am wearing them but was a bit unsure and that clarifies. Thanks

Well thats fine but IMO watch winders are only really necessary if you have watches with a lot of complications.

Well thats a better option don't get me wrong winders are fine,but if you just have watches with say a simple date complication.Its not really much of a problem to give the watch a occasional wind.Myself like hand winding a watch its like making you part of that watch,winding to keep it alive and going.
