New SubC or TT Daytona (+ p/x bluesy)???

Decision time for me. I have 2 options:

1. M serial BNIB TT Daytona for £4,700 + p/x my 16613 or...
2. Brand New SS SubC + Keep my 16613.

The daytona has been a grail of mine for a while now but the SS SubC looks like it's going to be pretty awesome too. As the cash element is going to be around the same i guess the question comes down to whether i should give up bluesy for the daytona over just buying the new sub in addition to keeping the 16613.

What are your thoughts guys?

Tough one. Which one makes you smile?

I'd go with the grail.

Good Luck!

Hi and welcome to TRF.

Without a second thought or even batting an eyelid, go with option 2!!

SS SubC and a Bluessy is a lot better than a TT Daytona, I promise.

Option 1 seems a little bit overpriced unless the 16613 is in very rough condition.

Only you know which is the watch for you.

I didn't think p/x was too bad. The 16613 is in good condition - probably needs a bit of a polish on the pcl's but other than that i'd say it was pretty mint. The TT daytona rrp is a tad over £9k so effectively i'd be getting £4,300 for the bluesy (which is a 2004 model btw) or looking at it another way (the dealers way) he's giving me a 14% discount on the rrp and £3k for bluesy.

However...all that being said I do find myself leaning a little more towards option 2.

Can i really justify 2 subs though? Wouldn't it be weird to have an older tt sub and a (some would say: improved) new SS model - shouldn't it be the other way round? I have issues...

option 2...no question..

You'll find that some occasions call for a SS, and others for a Flash of Gold..

Option 2 lets you do it both.

as for as whether or not you can wait for a Subc is another question..

I think number 1.) exhange is... 700 pounds...or more... against you

I would keep my "bluesy" and buy the new ceramic sub.
Then later add to the collection the two tone Daytona
or buy a steel Daytona 116520

If I was in the UK today I would have been able to supply the two tone
Daytona BNIB ...in V serial for around 6000 pounds.

Now I am doing all or most of my Rolex remarketing supply (sic) of new
watches via the telephone and I hardly list any watches in the FS: section
thanks to TRF and my low new Rolex watch prices...
The good news are that
I will be moving to London soon and assist all of my TRF buddies there find new
Rolex watches for the same low prices as in the US. ...

I was vey fortunate to be in the same situation a couple of weeks ago and went with the Daytona mainly because i had never owned one. I have owned many watches including 2 TT subs and an 18k sub all with blue dials and I have never loved a watch the way I love my TT Daytona f serial white dial. A sub is just a watch a Daytona is a Daytona. Go with the Daytona.
