OK, don't SCREAM....

As this might not be the appropriate forum. Just a quick question. Ready to buy a Datejust within days -- Yeah!! -- But just saw this 100 buck Invicta, looks like a copy of the TT Blue Sub. Anyone know the correct model number? Is it 8928OB? Wanna snag it just for the hell of it. Watch frenzy moment I guess....Thanks in advance. Chuck

I don't know what it is, but it appears that like 10 of us have seen the 16613 copy Invicta and almost mistook it for a real sub...

I think Gaby has one, so he might know where to obtain one.

Might be the model 9938 runs around $300 or so. I had bad luck with the one I had. Sent it in for service 3 times and they never got it right. Also takes about 2 months each time they service it at Invicta. I have the 9937 also and it had problems. Had to send it in and seems to work ok now but service time sucks. LOL.

Attached are photos of the 9938C I referenced earlier - photos are from the e-bay listing where I found mine.

From a distance the Invicta's looks better then my 16613, because they have the deep cobalt blue. My "Z" serial has the paler blue, I had the 9938 a few years ago but it died on me

So?? A nice looking watch is a nice looking watch......so long as you're only buying it for appearances not longevity. Right?

I paid around $300 for this 9937 if I remember correctly. Swiss movement, sapphire crystal, pretty good build quality. Not nearly as new looking now though, its been bashed around a bit.

I think Sams has them for around $125. I know the automatc 16610 clone is $109.

Some of their watches use ETA 2824 movements. They get close, but are their own brand that display "Invicta". I have recommended Invicta to people who don't want to pay over a $100 for a watch, and ask me for a watch recommendation. One thing I did notice is on a watch I bought for someone, is the stem threads are too fine and can be stripped, and the stem fitment is such that it can be easily cocked when threading.

I see some comments on the watch not lasting. For less than the cost of a service you can throw it away and buy a couple new ones.

Make sure its the Swiss Movement and not their Japan movement line. The Swiss holds up a lot better. Usally its those with the jpn mvt. that run around 100, I believe its a little more than double for the Swiss Movements

I will tell you this.... I have both an Invicta "sub" and a Rolex Datejust.... BELIEVE ME, you will be much more satisfied with the Rolex. Its been over two months since I bought the Invicta and its seen my wrist about 7 times, and thats just because as tattooedGQ calles it acting girley and color coordinating with my blue shoes and cap.

just my 2 pennies
