RSC-Geneva?

Awhile ago I had a post about a friend of mine whose father had left him a circa 1960's TT datejust with the jubilee bracelet that had oval links. A very nice watch. I could swear that he told me that they sent the watch to Switzerland for service. Is it possible to send your watch back to the factory for service or if not, is there a RSC in Geneva? One would think that the service would be the best. Would there be customs issues?

One way ticket

Oh, you can send it...but the question is whether or not US Customs will allow it back into the USA.

Remember, Rolex USA has received an embargo on anything Rolex that doesn't go through their sourcing into the USA, except and unless you are returning to the US and are allowed to import one Rolex per person, after paying duty.

So, don't count on Rolex Geneva sending your watch back through internal channels via Rolex USA so that you can take advantage of the out of US Rolex experience we all read about.

And based on feedback that you've read here, the vast majority of Rolex RSC customers are pretty happy with the results of a service. Sure, there are some issues with perceived 'attitude' of NY Rolex as opposed to Dallas or Beverly Hills, or vice versa, but overall, the watch that comes from an RSC is sent back in fine shape.
