Greekbum was telling me about a Hirsch leather strap that has curved ends that fit right up to the case they are called Leonardo straps. I looked them up and they definately look sharp I have a 16233 I picked up that was in a motorcycle accident I restored in but the band was completely destroyed I will be getting one of these Leonardo straps for it. I put a white Bold Roman numeral dial and new hands sap cry and tube and crown plus movement parts it looks real good I'll post some pics when I get the new case back from Rolex. Rik

I was ready to hit just reading the thread title, before I looked at the pic.
Darn that looks good! I'm sticking with my bracelet, but it looks great. If I want a strap, I wear my Pam.

Nice Look! Maybe some strap makers will build a nice thick strap for the Beast!

Divers watches don't normally have leather, but in this case, well it does look smart.
I still believe the SS 904 looks better. The Explorer and Explorer II seem to be more compatible with a leather strap than a DSSD IMO |

I am not a diver (DSSD), nor am I a pilot (have the IWC BP as well)...just love the watches.
Think black leather would be worth a shot to see how it looks. |

Good idea and a good result. I think it would be very comfortable too. Maybe DeepSea will be the Panerai of Rolex with multiple leather strap versions. The thickness of the leather strap is a great companion to the thickness of the watch case

When I wore Panerais, I purchased a number of 'WATERPROOF' leather straps. I didn't try the ocean, but they worked just fine in the pool. I think you could use a "waterproof" leather strap with a diver if you wanted to, and be just fine.
