My wife likes my hobby and today while drinking coffee in Sivota, Greece she spotted a guy wearing something on a NATO band at the table next to us and asked me what it was. I tried getting a good look but couldnt tell exactly what model Sub it was so I asked him.The guy was shocked to say the least.At 1st he probably was scared but after seeing I had on a similar watch he opened up and told me in the 50 years he had been wearing his watch no one ever asked him about it.

He was a tourist from the UK enjoying his holiday and told me its the only watch he ever bought and when the bracelet fell apart the watch maker he brought it to suggested a grey NATO strap and he likes it. Nice to see an old timer wearing a 61-62 gilt 4 line 5512 in the wild

BTW he responded with its a Rolex Skin Diver watch. He didnt know what a pointy crown guard 5512 or all that nonsense was lol

My fiance noticed a couple wearing All gold DJ's and DD's on the subway last week. I had already noticed them but was so proud of her :)

Great story.

I talk to people all the time about their watches. I either get the "deer in the headlights" look or it starts a great conversation.

My wife saw the TT Sub-C black dial and said it's a very nice watch maybe this Christmas!!! We shall see
