I'm with the consensus here. I think it adds yet another something to the watch and avoids some of the questions about whether its real or not. To me its more subtle in the flesh than in photos.

I actually really like it Pat...It doesn't take away anything from the readability!!!

Although I have to say some models are better without...

Don't like it at all - tacky over branding.

Second that.

The rehaut engraving isn't visible unless you're looking for it.

Then zoom in (click again).

Then look at the engraved R O L E X R O L E X R O L E X around the dial.
Now I see what it is.
I don't have that on my SD

It shouldn't be there on their sports range. On the DateJust, Day-Date no problem.

But if it helps deter fakes then I'm all for it. And when buying Rolex you can match the watch against the warranty card without having to remove the bracelet (which most ADs will not entertain). Keeps everyone honest. Cheers,

I love it. I think it makes the watch balanced and good use of space IMO, that's why I love modern Rolex

I'm not a big fan of it, but I don't really mind either. I simply like a cleaner rehaut.

Rehaut - Well, I can live with it & learn to like it.
S/No - Very practical, indeed.

DSSD Ring Lock System - That is something else

I like it. It’s just one more measurement point to use my trusty 20x optical comparator on when inspect potential new models to buy. You would be surprised as to how close some of the high dollar fakes are getting these days. Things like this are handy when you are not in a position to remove the back and inspect the movement right away. Most of the fake’s even high dollar ones engraving will be much larger or not consistent in size. A calibrated optical comparator will tell you if the size is off even a small fraction.

It can't be seen easily anyway, so it doesn't get in the way.

However I do think it is kind of neat, after all it says:

ROLEX ROLEX ROLEX ROLEX

Can't get enough ROLEX!!!

I have been infected.

Good thing you don't, Fred. I don't think the 16600 ever had it.

I'm not crazy about the engraved rehaut.

I really went out of my way to look for an LV with a smooth chapter ring.

Makes the dial look busy IMO.
