Gold, scratches?

Im going to buy a Rolex to everyday use for many years, and Im not sure what to buy, TT or SS.... Does the gold in rolex watches get easy scratches? And does the colour of the gold fades over the years?

Will the gold scratch? Only if it contacts something harder than 18k gold (which is a lot of things).

If you get PCL (Polished Center Link) instead of brushed (or better yet: BARKED!), the PCL is much more likely to show scratches.

In my (relatively short) experience, the color does not fade. But then again, I don't use bleach when washing it!

Are you rough with your watches and wear them no matter what you are doing? If so and scratches bother you, I'd avoid gold or TT and get Stainless Steel.
