When would you guys reset the time on your rolex? mine is running 6 seconds slow right now. It was only 3 seconds slow for a week and a half without any variation (i was setting it in my watchbox face up but switched to my winder last night since i didn't wear the watch yesterday) I was intending not to reset it till i need to advance the date (october 1st)

Whenever it gets to the point of being to far off and too slow. I don't like to be late, and if it is just a bit fast that wouldn't be to much of a problem for me.

Well, you'll certainly get some responses to this one. I set mine once a week, or 15 seconds out, whichever comes first.

If I look at it and it's not the same minute as my cell phone, I change it. (I ignore seconds)

And yes, I know there are more accurate things I could sync with.

I don't wear my good watches in a long enough period to notice their time keeping, normally they are worn from Friday night till Monday morning. Rest of the time I wear a Seiko, which keeps appalling time, looses 10 mins in 5 days, this really bugs me as a Seiko is generally reliable. I reset the Seiko once a week, normally when I put it back on on Monday morning., however..

I was working on the van on Thursday (no work on Friday), took watch off and chucked it on the bonnet, fixed van and went for a test drive. Wasn't until this morning I couldn't find my Seiko. I eventually found it at the end of my gravel drive, strap had been run over, but miraculously the watch was intact.

Still annoyed it doesn't keep time, just glad its still working. Basically I reset when it makes me late for appointments! I probably have lived in Andalucia for too long.

sometimes I wonder - how does anyone know the 1/2 second off? By using some sort of special measuring machine or just happen to have magic eyes?

For me - I use the microwave colck to set the watch 99% of the time... and if there is an power outage and i needed to reset the microwave clock, I use my mobile phone.

I have never late for meetings or appointments or flights.... ;-)

I don't wear any particular watch more than a couple of weeks or so, so I only set them once... when I put them on..........

I don't care. I set them by my alarm clock or the microwave if they have stopped between wearings and they will be at roughly the right time plus or minus 5 minutes or so. I don't even bother to set the date anymore. For example my Sea Dweller is 3 minutes slow according to the clock on my computer and the date says the 25th. When I was much younger I was very anal about it, now I have little concern how accurate my watch is. Not sure why the change.

I like to rotate watches and don't believe in winders so I set the time whenever I put the watch on. None of mine ever run for more than a few days straight. Otherwise, I set the watch when I'm traveling to another timezone.

Thirty seconds is accurate enough for me. I set it about thirty seconds slow and set again when it's about thirty seconds fast. Currently, that takes about two weeks.

1 minute is my limit..but never saw that...if it goes fast ; at night it rests crown up, then it keeps perfect time.. +- 0 seconds..

Would the watchmaker make the effort to regulate it if it is within COSC? I was informed it is very difficult and time consuming to regulate a watch to +/-0.

I adjust it when it is 1 minute off.....at the rate it is running, that would be every 33 days or so.....

Now wouldn't it be great if it is spot on??...

Within two minutes. If I can't tell that my watch is off by checking my computer/cell phone, then the watch is fine.
