Pulled the trigger (well one trigger at least)
Hello again.
I didn't think I would become a "watch guy" in only a few short weeks. It all started with a trip to Grand Cayman for a quick seven day vacation with the family. We planned an afternoon trip to George Town for some shopping and lunch. The "shopping trip" turned into me looking at Rolex's at a local AD while my wife and two daughters looked at everything else in the store. We must have been in that store for two hours looking and looking. What made it sort of strange is I never considered a Rolex before in my life (any watch for that matter). I left that store bitten by the Rolex bug without a Rolex. I tried to justify why I wanted a Rolex for the rest of the vacation (i.e., a mile stone birthday in just a few short weeks, 40 argggg, wedding anniversary in a few short weeks, etc.). I almost pulled the trigger while I was in Grand Cayman but I am glad I didn't because I would have overpaid and I would have ended up with a model that I wasn't 100% happy with. I didn't know this at the time but I am glad I waited. I returned home to Houston and started my research. Where to buy it, how much should I spend, should I buy new or pre-owned, what model should I get, TT or SS, and on and on....... After a few weeks of research (and some help from some of the TRF members), I pulled the trigger and purchased a pre-owned (LNIB with papers) SS Sub - 16610 Z. I have learned a little from reading various threads, so I was sure to post pics (no pics, never happened LOL). Two things I plan never to leave home without..... Cheers.... Welcome to TRF & becoming a part of the "family'.
Hey, congrats as sounds like you got the bug but did not get bit in the butt by the AD pricetag! Enjoy the new piece as I think the 16610 was a great choice as it was my first Rolex as well and stay safe.

Sorry about the pic. I just ready the post about no guns pics. It was not my intention to offend anyone. I will be sure to only post pics of my watch in the future.

Cardinals fan in any town...... St. Louis is a baseball town (probably the best in the country if you ask me, just my 2cents). Houston is a football town. When the Astros can win 10 or more world championships, I might have a problem.

Congrats.
I had a similiar experience. Me and my wife were in Maui the beginning of this year when I went into a couple of the Rolex stores on the island. I didn't end up getting my first Rolex until I got back home. Once you see one its almost impossible not to get one. Heck the Bug bit me so hard I got three!!! The only treatment because there is no cure is to get another one.
