Fell out of love with my sub LV

I dont know what happened, i thought i liked the green bezel but after a few weeks , i fell out of love; anyway it went to a good home. I sold it to my friend for 4800.00 Anyone else ever get tired of the green bezel?

I never owned the LV but liked the maxi dial. It seems a very popular thing that people do is switch out the green bezel for a black one. If I owned the LV that's what I would have done. Unless, of course, you want to go in a different direction.

Like Perry said, the green bezel can be easily changed to the black one. You would then have a black Sub with Maxi dial.

I would have just swab the green bezel for a black....but that's just me.

I would only swap out the green bezel with an oem black bezel, never an after market one. Just wouldn't respect it with a non-Rolex part.

I really liked mine. I could find no fault with the green bezel, tried going with the black bezel, but the splash of color just did it for me. I recently sold mine for other reasons..... sub-c incoming.

Maybe you should go to a ceramic bezel?

No worries, Bob. Same thing happened to me. Had it for only one month and just couldn't get myself to jell with Green/Black combo. Solid it later.

Exactly the same thing happened to me.

After a few weeks, I felt that this green/black combo doesn't work anymore for me.

Now I am going to sell it, do not want to change to a black bezel because I like Rolex originals....

Regards
Tom

good on you for being honest with YOURSELF and not holding onto a watch just because it's a Rolex. You gotta be happy my friend!

So what do you have in mind to replace it? a GMT IIc maybe? Ceramic Sub? I'm assuming it wont be a sub with a black insert because you could have done that with your LV lol

As said, no point owning something for the sake how others feel about it.

It is a killer watch though w/ the old case but beautiful maxi dial/hands, I would have swapped the bezel to black before switching.

I love all the Rollies with the Green accents and the new green dial Sub. And I certainly haven't fallen out with my Sub LV. Also I think in years to come they will increase in desirability.

First I liked the LV very much, then after some weeks got very bored with it, not only bored, didnt like the green at all. Swapped the bezel to black, then again first I liked it but after some weeks it just didnt look right. The big hour markes just were not in line with the slim case design. Big markers are nice with the maxi case but with the standard sub case they were not appealing. Ended up selling the LV and got a new seadweller 16600. (I wouldnt buy the new sub-c lv now. First in the shop it looks amazing but I would get tired of the green colour very soon. My opinion.)

I am just the opposite. I bought 3 Sub LV's when they first came out...I did not like them at all so I sold them ( I had gotten a great deal if I bought all 3) anyways quite a few years later (about 6 months ago) I bought another M series Sub LV and it has become my favorite...I bought the extra black bezel but at this time have no desire to install it. I do believe the green bezel colors are different from the early releases??

Same here...the LV used to be my grail, but after owning it for over just a few weeks, I sold it to a friend and bought myself a GMT IIc and couldn't be any happier....A few months after, got a great deal from another friend who's selling his LV and bought it for my wife...wife loved it for a while, but after getting a SS white daytona, the LV is again back on the chopping block.. :(

I've never been fond of the LV because of the green....just not a fan. Wear what you love! Doesn't sound as if you'll miss it at all.

Definately not sick of mine. I've had it 5+ years. I've been wearing it the past 2 weeks as a matter of fact.

I had my LV for almost 3 years before I sold it. I loved the maxi dial, but the green bezel clashed with many things I wore. The black bezel on my SeaDweller is a bit more understated and if I buy another sub, it will be black bezel.

fell out of love with LV

at first I loved it because green is the color of my alma mater. when I started to collect mainly vintage, the LV was easily sacrificed to purchase more vintage. I guess it was more impulse than love.

I am currently loving my LV with the black insert. The green is cool and all that, but strikes me as more of a specialty weekend party look. If I owned more than one Sub, I'm sure I'd leave the LV green, but it is in frequent rotation and the black is more versatile and iconic to me.

I have noticed that the maxi markers do appear just a bit out of proportion, but I love them nonetheless. I have been craving the new Sub-C, but aside from the improved clasp, there is not a whole lot to gain from an aesthetic standpoint between my LV and the Sub-C. I imagine my opinion on that will change the first time I see a Sub-C in the steel.

I like the new hulk from pictures here on trf. I was never
a fan of the green bezel but the new shade with the green
dial is killer. I also like the yg gmt2c with green dial...
That's my unobtainable Grail.
