HELP ME, Rolex Gold 16613 problem
Hi,
I "recently" purchased a rolex watch, in may to be specific. I wear it everyday on a 8-9 hours basis, not regular on holidays, sometimes i do, sometimes i dont. Although, it has become to stop from time to time on a non-regular basis... I called my AD nymans and they said i should wound it manually. So i did, but yet it stops from time to time. And when i wounded it for 20-25 times it worked for a time, maybe 1-2 hours then stops again. What could be the problem? If this will become more often i will visit my AD but maybe you guys could help me out. When i come home i just put the watch in my box and leave it there, i have no wind-system. |

Not really sure what the problem could be, any number of things might be causing this. I would recommend sending it in for a service at an RSC, especially if it is still under warranty.

Since it's an N series it's most likely not under warranty.
Wind it manually 40 turns then lay it down and check how long it runs. If it still stops after a few Hr's then it's time for a service. |

its not n-series, and its still under warranty since i bought it in stores in may.
I have written the wrong series in my profile, but you recomend a service? It has only belonged to me for 4 months.... |

I've read that the automatic mechanism will not function correctly unless it is fully wound to being with.
Try winding it 40-50 times (until you feel the clutch grinding) and then wear it all day. Let us know the results!

i will do it once im home and let you know the outcome. hopefully it will be solved, otherwise i will pay a visit to my AD tomorrow.... hope the watch is ok, dont want it to go away on vacation for weeks :(

Once last thing, how do i wound it correct? Shall i screw the crown towards me (since it wont work in any other way) and then screw 50 times? Ive treyd it now but never comes to any grind... maybe its not correct? I cant put it out more cause then theres date and clock adjustment i suppose..

well, when i still have you on the line... if i pull the crown all the way out, will it cause problems with setting the time adjustment or date? Please give me a 1.2.3 FAQ how to do this wound-thing. Ill let you know the outcome once im home in 2-3 hours then. Thanks mate.

yeah, and thats what ive tryed. I screw it towards me since you cant do it in any other way.. I think i did it for 1 minute without any result..the watch stopped after about 15 minutes... :(

ok hm ill try it later, cause it didnt work when i tryed the first time.. it stuck in some way. when i pull the crown out a bit more it works, but it never becomes any grindy...

Try not to be frustrated. If that doesn't work, go to the AD and let them check it out.
In the end, you'll have an excellent watch.

do you have the little instruction booklet at home? it shows all the positions of the crown. i had to get the ad to show me what to do. johny

yes i have everything that comes from the AD, including a keychain from patek philippe Ill check it once im home, and yes, the watch is still running... maybe i should embrace myself with a new suit, since im so good at this winding thing
