Hi Folks,

Here are a few pictures of my 17 year old Oyster Fliplock Bracelet. It's been through quite a lot in its history and I'm thinking of sending it to Michael Young for some restoration work.

Do you guys think the bracelet looks stretched between the links? I really want to tighten it up so I'm pretty sure to end it off.

Appreciate your comments and input.

Looks a bit stretched. Hold in in mid air, that's the best way to tell.

Sent my bracelet to Michael Young in HK on August 23 and have been waiting in heavy anticipation ever since. I received word from Michael that the bracelet will be ready sometime next week so I hope to receive it before the end of the month.

The wait is agonizingly long and my watch has been sitting in the safe feeling very lonely.

I have it on a kevlar strap but it just does not feel right on the wrist. Patience ... just a little more patience.

It looks a bit "broke in" but should have many years of faithful service left in it.

A bit perhaps, but I would not be concerned. The Oyster bracelet are more comfortable after ten years of use ;-)

looks to be in best condition, you'll need to hold from one end only without supporting the opposing side, let gravity show us/you what's happening. overall, looks to be in pretty good shape for a 17 year old bracelet...

You mind me asking what the charge is to get your bracelet tightened up? Is it just like new after the service? Thanks.

Thanks for the link, that is actually a reasonable price if they do indeed remove all the slack. I just bought a brand new 93150 oyster bracelet from a forum member to use with my GMT Master because the 20-year old 93150 was stretched more than I prefer and just showing signs of age. I was keeping that one for a rainy day, so maybe I'll send it off for a refurb!

Here are a couple of quick photos I just took of my old 93150 and brand new 93150. Hard to get the stretch in photos, but here you go.

The first photo has the older bracelet on top showing how much it can be bent into the curve. The new bracelet on bottom is curved as far as it will go and it barely moves.

The next photo has the bracelets suspended with the older one hanging on the right. You can see a wider gap between the links, but not horrifically wider.

Last photo is similar to the first with the curve going in the opposite direction

Jib, I'll post some pictures as soon as I get it. Since mine was an Oyster Fliplock Bracelet (#93150) the cost was US$100 plus shipping to Manila which was US$28.
