GMT Master II question
Does anyone know if it is possible to replace the bracelet on a z serial GMT Master II with the bracelet and clasp from a GMT Master IIC? The one thing I have always felt was a little lacking in the sport models is the bracelet and clasp and I wanted to know if it could be upgraded to the better quality bracelets and clasps on the new models. Thanks for any input.

I don't think it will fit the older case. Not sure!

I was pretty sure the lug width was the same, I was under the impression that the only real change was the width of the outside of the lugs, not the inside but im not sure eitjer so i figured someone here may have tried.

But why would you want to turn your nice GMT II into a frankenwatch?

It might fit. When I had my GMT IIc I switched bracelets with my SD and it came out all right. Hope it helps.

I do not see any reason why it will not fit. The machined lip on the back of the GMT IIc is deeper than the 16710, and the back half of the bracelet SEL shell is slightly thicker, so it will fit with a bit of a shelf on the backside...
Your biggest problem will be getting hold of one of the new 1,300 dollar newer bracelets.. Rolex does not sell parts seperately.

Looks like Vdental's signature shows that he owns both an 116710 GMTIIc and a 16710 GMT Master II. He just posted pics of a GMTIIc with a sea dweller band but ask him to swap the GMT bands and snap some pics. I bet he will.

i think someone fit his sub-c bracelet on a sub-date before, and it worked. i am assuming the same can be done for the gmt-ii and ii-c.
