Bracelet Question

Usually when my Exp II bracelet does not fit me well, All i have to do is just take a small pin or needle and just fix the size by punching in the holes in the clasp. Of course that seems very convenient since I do not need to add any link to it unless I've gone through all the holes.

I seem to have quite a problem with my milgauss. It seems that once you have lifted the extension link making it 5mm loose, that's all you can do. If it doesn't fit you, then you just have to add another link.

I was wondering if there is a way to adjust the bracelet on the milgauss such as the way I would do it on the exp II?

The two bracelets are completely different. From what you say, apparently you have large wrists, so for the Milgauss you might have to add on an extra link.

Best thing is to go to your AD and see if he can help. Remember, it's always better (especially on a long term basis) to wear the bracelet with the Easy Link tucked in rather than pulled out. That way the strain falls on the link and you get a double support.

With the Easy Link pulled out, all the strain falls upon the micropin inside the last link embedded within the clasp.

Oh yes, the Milgauss also has the Easy Link extension, but as the OP explained, when you pull the Easy Link out, it extends the bracelet by a whopping 5 mm thereby actually making the whole thing quite loose.

In a nutshell, try and wear the bracelet with the Easy Link tucked in - not extended...........this is for a much more secure grip on the bracelet.

My Datejust has a three-position micro-adjustment inside the clasp (in addition to the 5mm Easy Link). I don't know about the Milgauss, but I assume it would be the same. Just use a tiny screwdriver or a forked bracelet tool to slide amongst the three positions.

All these bracelets do have the 3-hole adjustment inside the clasp. Adjusting these can be tricky and cumbersome. A Bergeon 6111 tool can come in handy.

+1. Becareful adjusting the micro pin inside the clasp. Even with a Bergeon, I messed up the pin, bending it slightly. Rolex did not make the adjustment easy. What is needed are two easy links, each 2mm apart.

Does this mean that I am able to adjust the bracelet on the milgauss' clasp? So it's actually possible just slightly a different method compared to the Exp II?

Yes, it's possible, but, like I said, it can be tricky because the clasp does not have the holes running right through and through like your Exp-II.

Have a careful look on the inside of the clasp and you will see 3 tiny notches there. See which hole the mircopin is set in now and then take it into your AD to make the final adjustments. If you don't have the proper tools or have never done this before (which seems pretty obvious), then please don't try it on your own.

Your AD will take care of it while you wait.

I can see it! I saw the 3 tiny notches and its currently in the middle one. I think I'll take it to RSC tomorrow and have it fixed over there. As you said, it's quite hard especially since I do not have the necessary tools to work with it.
