Even more gutted update

Spuds. Quite simply you're wrong in your assessment.
It's 99% certain the th AD screwed the bracelet on your watch and I'm happy that you were satisfied with a repair (as i was for the screw head issue on my sub - id told the AD they were getting me some new screws but this was before I'd spotted the 2 other faults).
However, I've seen 2 watches that don't meet the QC I expect . No offense taken, you know nothing about me other than a few posts on an Internet forum.

I'm happy with the choice of watch and I'm confident that I'll eventually get one I'm happy with. I fail to see how informing rolex of my situation is such a crime. They are nothing to be scared off and I've been polite and asked for assistance.

I think you're reading far too much into this my friend. I'm disappointed and desperate for the watch to be on my wrist. Maybe rolex will be interested in my issues. Maybe they won't.

One more and one Last thing spuds. I've spent nearer 10 times the amount of the watch on a car (more than once) and it's not parting with the cash that's the problem but I expect it to deliver and to enjoy the experience.

I wasn't suggesting that you couldn't afford it: Only that possibly you were disappointed in the 'bang per buck' that it delivered, when perhaps a Tag, PO, or Breitling might have offered more depending on your personal preference.
(I apologise if my wording inferred otherwise however).


[Incidentally & for the record I personally believe that both the Omega PO and the Breitling B01's offer more 'bang per buck' than any Rolex!]

Regarding the Rolex/Ferrari analogy. A Ferrari is huge compared to a watch. That's why I mentioned about the front bumper not properly being aligned. I AM QUITE SURE that Ferrari would double check this before they ship it out. A Rolex's bezel is almost has important as a front bumper because it's one of the first thing's you see on a watch. Also, I think a Ferrari has way more grounds to cover regarding QC than a Rolex. A watch has more smaller parts but if they work on the microscope all the time, they should have picked this flaw out.

I think we should all get some beers and have a group hug! We all have different views on this matter. The truth is, the OP will get a better watch. You do notice how the AD was quick on replacing the flawed watch. They understand how Rolex owners yearn for perfection. I mean if you're willing to spend a large chunk of money on a watch, you'd want to hold that quality standard to another level. That just my 0.02 cents.

Allow me to chime in and posts like this make me wonder if I really want a Rolex ....

In my perception Rolex claims or has the name of making perfect little time pieces at the cost of small to large cars.

Now if there is anything NOT perfect on the watch that is handed to me in exchange for $10000 then there is something wrong big time !!!!

If I buy a chinese replica for $98u and the cyclops is not aligned then I am pissed off and toss it in the garbage BUT if my $10000 watch has the thing misaligned then I am completely pissed. IF this happens once in a lifetime then fine but TWICE in a row to the same guy ?? Kidding ?

Does Rolex think its the customers problem to check the watch and make sure its all fine? NO! That is why they cost 10k!

Its not that there arent jigs that let the worker put the cyclops on straight or anything ...

The other thing that puts me off is that a supposedly perfect watch has only 2 years warranty? Why is that? Do they not stand behind their product? Do they fear after 4 years it falls apart? What does it tell me as a customer when most crap from walmart has lifetime warranties???

Spuds, again, you keep going over the same thing and this bang for your buck comment makes no sense. Despite wanting it to be flawless, at least to the naked eye, it's a watch so other than sit on my wrist and look good I'm not sure what else you think I was expecting it to do.
