Explorer Help
Guys, I'm out of town and only have my iPhone, so I can't run a search here on the forum. I'm wanting to know the current US price for an Explorer and the price before the recent increase. Also are V-series the last known, or have some been spotted with the new random serial? TIA

I am relatively new here, as I have recently been considering an Explorer myself, and while I certainly can't claim anywhere near the knowledge that many on this forum have regarding pricing, I can tell you that in my visits to AD's and searches on this and other forums, I have seen nothing even remotely close to the street prices quoted above. As far as retail price is concerned, the 36mm Explorer retailed for $5050.00, and I have seen nor heard of any price increase probably because it has been discontinued. The new 39mm Explorer retails for $5770.00, which is about a 14% increase over its predecessor.
I am not sure whether or not the random serial numbers were applied to the 36mm Explorer. However, I have seen one at an AD with the Rolex Rehaut applied which would imply that it was a recent model. By the way, I would love to be corrected regarding the above mentioned street price reference, so if anyone can point me to a seller who has a new Explorer (36mm) for $2600 - $3300, I would be grateful. |

If its any help I've just bought a 36mm Explorer from my AD which has a V serial number; they advised that it is the last one they will get as Rolex are now supplying only the new 39mm model. From this I'm guessing that the random serial numbers will not be found on the 36mm Explorer - glad I got mine to keep my Sub company!
