Need help with a decision!!!
Hello guys,
I need help deciding if I should return this camera (SX30) I just bought. Based on the two photos here, can you guys just quickly tell me which you like better and possibly why? Any pro's advice would be greatly appreciated. I just feel like I got the wrong camera for the things I wanted......Please also excuse the poor photography skill..... Photo 1 Photo 2 This point and shoot allowed me to take the following two photos standing at the same exact place...... Thanks, guys. |

Photo 2 provides MUCH better detail.
Did you use a tripod? |

My reason for asking... a tripod would help eliminate the factor of camera movement - which in the case of a steady hand with the shot of one camera - and a non-steady hand with the shot of the other camera... could lead one to perhaps falsely believe that the fuzziness is due to the variance in quality of the two camera's. Photo 1 is fuzzier, compared to Photo 2. But perhaps there was more camera movement in Photo 1, and you had a more steady hand in Photo 2. A tripod would help eliminate this potential variance... allowing for a more accurate comparison in quality between the two cameras. |

I believe that Photo 1 is affected by glare from light somewhere in the room. And that would not be attributable to the camera, but the environment.

Photo two is better, coming from a point and shoot the shot is pretty good. A DSLR and a macro would make a big difference though, but I like the 2nd picture.

thanks kyle, your photos look amazing, as usual. What do you think about all these superzoom's out there? Is it worth keeping? Kinda want to return this sx30 but the zoom is quite good......not that I go birding lolll
