Welcome sam,

First rule of any purchase is trust the seller. If you have done you're homework, then you should get good value buying used. As far as the value of that watch? I'm not really up to date on used market values, but if it seems too good to be true, then refer to rule no 1

I think $3150 is a fair price.

I would try and buy from a trusted seller on TRF before i got one off Ebay, you could get one with papers too. Nice model to obtain but be wary.

I must make a decision :

-Rolex Submariner no date F serial 2003-2004 : 3450 $ US
-Rolex Sea Dweller year 2000 P serial 2000-2001 : 4244 $ US SERVICED ABOUT 1 MONTH AGO.

Both whitout box and papers

wich one choose?

Both sellers are serious more than 500 evaluations 100 %

Welcome to TRF Sam,
The first thing to do when buy a watch is try to find all the models that are in your price range and then work your way to find the one you want...
So go to your local AD and try on your options and then find a deal on the one you want... you might find that you have to spend an extra $500 and get the one that you really want VS just buy the one that you have 2 because if the $$ that you want to spend.
So explorer your options and then go from there.

hi there,I would not buy from ebay,a better place would be here or a used Rolex from a shop, there is no rush to buy now as you say you want to keep this watch for a long time, enjoy looking and find one with boxes and papers, post a "want to buy on here" you'll need to wait 16 days before you can post,do some reading on here of the people to buy from and the used shops to go to,there are a lot of fake watches on ebay,I would stay away from there as if it's a good watch it will not be any cheaper than a used shop or a seller from here,so ask yourself if it's on ebay for cheaper than elsewhere, WHY is that, enjoy your search

I wouldn't rush into, because you feel it's a deal you don't want to miss. I have seen them go for that price on ebay before, so if not this one, there will be another. When you rush into buying big ticket items, you may tend to not think clearly. Take your time and make the right choice for you. The deals come a dime a dozen if you are patient.

I am going to be honest. A Rolex is an expensive buy that will last for many years and will stay with you day by day until you want or decide to sell it or so. For a buy like that I would take more time. I wouldn't rush myself to the point that " I have to make a decision right now" because the seller is pushing or you want it for yesterday. I would take my time and get what I like and not what I can afford. If you want it right now my advice is. Buy the one you like and always buy the seller first. As someone said first... There are many great sellers in this and other Rolex forums that will give you a good price for the watch you want. Whatever you decision will be is only yours. Hope you make your mind soon and get a great watch.

Regards

Best bit of help anyone here can and has given you is buy off the forum here.
Avoid Ebay!!!

You should not buy the first thing that jumps at you, there are plenty of great deals to be found if you are patient from quality trusted sources... Ebay is NOT one of them

Take your time Sam. You have to research what you really want instead of just pulling the trigger. This way, it will lower the chances of you regretting your purchase. Also, the longer you wait and look around, the better deals you can find. Trust me, there are great deals to be found ALL THE TIME so don't ever think you have to act fast unless it's like a deal of a lifetime. Good luck.

I think those prices are a little bloated. You will be able to get better prices than those in newer items... If you are patient...

No one is saying you are stupid, my friend. We're just advising you to buy from the forum because you can get the best deals on pre-owned watches guaranteed. I bought many watches off of eBay and there are some scams out there. I've been lucky and smart enough to stay away from them but they are out there. Always buy the seller not the watch. That is so true.

In your case, it seems like the seller is very reputable. You shouldn't have a problem whatsoever. If I were you, I would wait and look around in the for sale section for better deals. I've seen newer sport models selling for the price of your budget. It just takes some time but you won't regret it.

With a healthy dose of common-sense, research and care, it is entirely possible to find the right watch, be it via Ebay or elsewhere. As to why prices on ebay might appear cheaper than a 'used shop or on here', well, people like to sell their watches without being 'cut down' by dealers/traders and others don't necessarily subscribe to forums such as this. Certainly, there are good watches to be obtained via TRF and through various additinal outlets, though I find prices for older watches to be somewhat on the upper side of reasonable.

There are many dealers buying watches from ebay sellers, marking-up on price and then selling oward, so they can see the opportunity. In this recession, people are literally, selling their shirts to survive (sadly). This is a good time to buy, for those with the means. Regardless of where you'd wish to buy, 'buyer beware' applies and just take your time to select the right deal.

my advice was aimed at the OP,if someone has done their homework then they wouldn't need to come on here and ask for "advice" about buying, only to seemingly be intent to go against the advice given, to him in his situation, you of cousre can get some good deals on ebay but can also get badly ripped off,the point I was simply making was a Rolex will mostly always sell in the same price range,so way buy from ebay with all the risks involved, and the risks increase if it's a "deal" so why not try and reduce the risk for the OP,I myself at the min have a watch on ebay but like I said I was over simplifying my advice because I felt it was best suited to the OP.

You may have to pay a import duty tax to customs. This can add a considerable amount if you buy out of country.

Shop around for a 14060. You can find a nice one for 2800.00usd.

Most legitimate sellers (including ebay sellers) will refuse to falsify customs documents.
