Which of your Roles's have got compliments ?

Whenever I wear a GMT pepsi or daytona it get's noticed by people who know. However the only verbal compliments I have received ids for the green sub LV.
No less than 4 times or 3 if you discount one from a salesman in a shop.

When I was in the Royal Navy I never got complimented on my GMT II, but on 2 occasions I was asked if I was wearing a fake Rolex. They were both officers, I was a junior rate at the time.

My dad's gold Rolex datejust....because it's on a strap rather than bracelet.....people think it's different.

no compliments - and I appreciate it that way.. I would hate to start a discussion on "how stupid it is to spend +10k on a single watch"..

Bob,
never felt Id be a big fan of all gold watches but when its on a strap like that it just looks great! Understated class.

Rolex is an understated elegence. I know what I am wearing, it makes me smile, and I like it that way.

It is nice however when someone who appreciates notices. Its a great conversation piece.

My Uncle noticed my Submariner (SS, Black Dial, Black Bezel) last night. He has a TT (SS/YG/Gold Dial with Diamond Markers). He asked if its was a fake which I bought back from Dubai. I said no, its the real deal. We then did a little wrist swap.

The funny thing was, when we handed the watches back he promptly asked if I was considering selling it. "'I'll give you £2500 for it" he said.

Just goes to show how special the Submariner is!

The pre ceramic LV has brought me several compliments, by people who know it is a Rolex and by people who do not know it is a Rolex.

When people see my Milguass I have to explain the whole story. Impressed yes, but they still walk off with an odd look on there face. LOL

My Polar Explorer II recently got some attention. My PAM 177 get some attention because of the size, and they know the whole history behind it.

I gave up on compliments, usually people want to tell me about their 20 watch that keeps great time and how they can't understand why anybody would spend 5k on a watch. These are the same people who spend 7k on a trip to Disneyworld and have nothing to show for it but memories.

I got complimented on my SS white dial Daytona once at the vets office - they said it was "shinny"...

In the three years I've owned Rolex watches, I think I've gotten maybe 2-3 comments. People just don't seem to notice watches that much, which is fine by me. No need to draw attention to an expensive timepiece.
