Stupid question probably (about bracelets material)
When it says two-tone, for example steel and gold 2-tone jubilee bracelet, the gold is just plated right?

Wrong Rolex never plates anything gold but they used to make the links hollow but never plated.

All except for the bracelet on some TT models. They are 'plated', 'capped' or 'fused' with 18K gold.
Choose the description that you are comfortable with.

The clasp and the end links on two tone bracelets are the only places where capping/plating/fusing is used......everywhere else it is solid (or hollow but made of nothing but Gold)...
Sorry...slight correction....I believe the internal screwed part of the crowns are always stainless steel......on Gold crowns the gold is capped/plated/fused to the internal screwed part.... Please note....I have been wrong before....experts will probably chime in...which is always brilliant....because of course we can always learn from them....every day's a school day....that's what makes this place so special

Well on the TT its a thin strip of 18ct thats bonded to the s.steel almost like a welding process. And yes on the older 16613 TT the crown was capped with 18ct gold but more than a just few microns thick.
