ND sub info please
Hello all, I should be getting my ND sub this next week.
Can someone tell me how long this Luminova version of the watch has been out? When did they switch from tritium dials to the current dial? Any other changes to know about within the current model. It seems like the ND sub has had few changes. The dial lume has changed and I think there was a movement change awhile back. But still has lug pin holes and a non SEL bracelet. Not even an upgrade on the bracelet extention. Can someone tell me a little more history on my new purchase. To be honest, I thought I should pick it up before they start writing Chonometer on the dial. |

Mark, the 14060 replaced the 5513 around 1989-1990. Orginally the 14060 was powered by the 3000 movement. It was replaced circa 2000-01 by the 14060M using the 3130.
Luminova came onto the scene around 1998 with the outlawing of tritium. There was a brief period of time when Rolex was issuing replacement luminova dials marked "SWISS T<25", the trit. marking for less than 25 milicuries, in place of the traditional "SWISS MADE". (about 98-03) The prevailing theroy seems to be that Rolex simply used up remaining stocks of dials already having the Trit. marking but with luminova rather than throw them out. Having said that, I'm sure someone will have an "M" with a tritium dial as nothing with Rolex is cut and dried. |

Thanks Mike.
So the current ND sub with the Luminova dial has been out for about 4 years. And the dial is really the only change in the past 6 years? |

I think Watchnut has a 1675 with a T<25 dial (luminova). Some collectors feel they're a bit of a collector's piece in themselves. I'm not sure there have been any changes to the "M' since it's introduction...of course that's about to change! |
