has anyone had to use their warranty to fix a Rolex

Got my GMT IIc regulated by Dallas RSC about 5 months into ownership in 2008. Has been great ever since. Extremely professional service.

Well in my experience the warranty is seldom used,if is is then most use it for very simple regulation.In reality regulation is just a 30 minute job for any good watchmaker,but if sent back to the RSC as long a 4 weeks to do.Perhaps thats why Rolex used to advertise it take 12 months to make a Rolex Oyster.

Bought a Yachtmaster in May of 2008 and sent if off to Rolex Dallas for regulation in April of 2010. Other than that, no problems. Most watches need to be regulated every couple of years, which is just routine matinence, but I thought may as well have it taken care of before the warranty ran out.

Had my DSSD for about 6 months and it had some signs of porosity on the case. Took three weeks at Dallas RSC, came back good as new at no charge and they reimbursed me shipping. Out of 5 Rolex's I have owned in the last 15 years, it was the first one.

Had my Exp II serviced and it failed completely after coming back from service. So, I took it back in under the service warranty and whatever the problem was it got fixed within a couple of weeks. Been just fine since.

The chronographic pushers on my Daytona stopped working. RSC fixed it in about three weeks.

Sent an SD in for adjustment, took 12 days, got it back fine. Sent to Dallas.

I just dropped my 16610 at the AD. Apparently the main spring is damaged. They offered to send it to Rolex for free servicing, but I declined b/c it would take 10 weeks instead of 2 days. Cost will be $65 for the AD to do the work.

I had a 2008 Sub LV that was running faster than COSC specs should permit, so I sent it to the Dallas RSC in the summer for a service under warranty. I was extremely impressed with the exceptional customer service I received.

My horror story with a happy ending...
I've purchased 5 Rolexes new from the same AD in the last 4 years - Sub, Exp II, Datejust, Sea Dweller and...a Pepsi GMT Z series. All but the GMT have been perfect. The GMT had irregular coating in the lume, so I sent it back to the AD for them to sort out with Rolex. They sent it to the RSC in Pennsylvania and a new dial was placed on it. It too had spotty, irregular lume, so the AD sent it back again. This time it came back to the AD supposedly with a perfect dial and, running well of course. The AD shipped it back to me and when I opened the box with great excitement (and apprehension given the whole experience), to my dismay the watch was not working!!!! Yes, it was dead. Now, within the year I’d owned it over half that time was spent at the RSC and each time it came back worse than before. I should also mention that the RSC sent back the watch scratched up and with the flip lock loose (I have no idea how the heck they managed to mess with the flip lock but they did!). Anyway, you can guess that it was quite a horror…however, the AD I deal with is, in my view, the best in the world because they took the watch back and refunded my money!! Now, the lesson here is that while you can certainly get a great deal on grey market watches, the real value of your AD is service and relationship in the event that something goes wrong. So the horror story ended well and I continue to buy from them. In the end, you just never know!

I used to own a V serial 14060M sub that after 2 weeks of owning it, i noticed it was about 7 seconds slow per day and had lint on the dial. I shipped it off to Dallas RSC and they took care of everything in a matter of 3 weeks. Also id like to point out that it was an international warranty and the warranty card was filled out (not by me), and they still honored it. You wont get such luck if you try the NYC RSC from what im told.

My mom bumped her new Datejust on a door jamb. it stopped. the AD reset one of the jewels and sealed it up on the spot. she was pretty upset when it happened. Gambard in Montreal has been first rate. real nice dude. Harry
