Whatever Q would give him -- Bond doesn't pay for anything, and perhaps has little choice.

He definitely would not wear an Omega LE with "007" on the second hand counterbalance , or with the name of his movie etched on the crystal!

Unless, of course, Q, being a man with a great sense of humour, might slip him one, saying with a wink, "trust me, it's the current rage with secret-agent-types".

Great idea for a thread. Here's how I look at it:

Bond would be a one watch man. He tries to fit in to his situation, but I don't think he'd go so far as to change watches. He often has to beat the crap out of people while wearing a tux, so I think a dedicated dress watch like a Patek is out of the question. Imagine all the times he's had to go diving and then pull off his wetsuit to reveal a suit. Bond, while in formal wear, needs his connection to something rugged but still luxurious. That brings me to my second point; it needs to be rugged. It needs to handle water and shock as well as look great at all times. He can't be wearing a G-Shock. Sorry guys, that's not Bond.

As I see it, he would have one of three watches. The Rolex Submariner (no date. Bond can remember what day it is, c'mon guys), the Rolex Explorer (because it's rugged while still able to look formal), and the Omega Planet Ocean (because it looks good).

I disagree. We all know that James Bond is a fictional character and thus all of these question are moot. But I try to look beyond that, regard it as an homage to some of Rolex's mythical traits and just enjoy it. My escape from this world of doom and gloom.

Thought it was a pretty cool thread myself as did quite a few others who posted positive comments. Anyway I better get back to reading the amazing threads you've posted in the past, may take some time though as I keep nodding off!

Since Mr Bond is prone to being tossed " involuntarily " out of planes/trains/automobiles/ships/skimobiles/human cannons- you name it , I nominate this one : Bremont MB1 -named after Martin-Baker , who manufacture ejector seats . It's British ( " London " on dial ) and is tested to withstand up to 30Gs of force and avail only to those who have been actually ejected from a plane.
If Bond hasn't ( yet ) been ejected thusly , they can issue him the MB2 , readily avail to " desk secret agents /desk BlackOps forces /desk fighter pilot WISs " everywhere. He doesn't need a mundane " diver" as any model with a good seal will suffice for a dip in the water , even to a few hundred ft.

You can only get the MB1 from Bremont if you are in Martin Baker's data base of the 7500 pilots who have ejected out of an aircraft .

I love G-Shocks, but I don't see James Bond wearing one. They don't fit the image.
