SubC or SS Daytona?

I recently had a choice between the new Sub in green or black or a Black face SS Daytona. Can you believe my local UK AD had all 3 sitting in the window?

Anyway, I snapped up the Daytona without even looking at the Subs but I'm wondering what others would have done given the same choice?

Depends on what you have and what you need...

As much as I like the 4130 movement, I find the older Zenith based Daytonas more attractive.

For a daily beater, on land, in water and in sea, you can't beat the Submariner IMO. I've had mine for over 12 years - absolutely problem free!

If I had a choice I would buy the Daytona. Every watch I buy I buy because I cannot afford a Daytona.

Daytona - White Dial though and if it was between a Sub C and Daytona Blk Dial then Dayton Black Dial wins

congrats that is so awesome - i would "probably" snap up the Daytona first, the Sub-C second, then the Sub-C LV would be the last

I did the very exact thing with a SS Daytona W Dial. I already had a GMTIIC, so the SUBC was bit too much like the GMTIIC.

I have since made up for it though by getting a SUB LV.

I would have taken all three as they're all hard to come by lately, but it seems like Daytonas are appearing in many ADs and the LV is harder to come by.

Well, I wasnt really looking for a new watch at the time but I had an agreement with my wife that if I ever saw a Daytona in an AD I would get it. A year and a few hundred AD's later and I finally found one.

I have seen many of the new subs in the windows, especially in London, and various TT and gold Daytona's but this is the first SS I have ever seen anywhere, white or black (good thing I wanted the black hey?).

I do wish I had spent a little time with one of the Subs but I doubt it would have changed my mind...

Does it really matter in the end????

As long as the OP is happy with what he got/paid... That all it matters.

If I didn't already have a Daytona, I would get that. Seeing as I have the Daytona already, I'd get the green Sub!

Well,
Seeing how everyone seem to have the sub in comparison to other models save the DJ,
my vote would be for the Daytona! You have a unique watch that not many own and it is not the one everyone else seems to have. I love the sub and wear one regularly but I like a watch that is a little for unique if it were the only one I were to have.
