Look what I have! Rolex Submariner Ref 6205
I've acquired a piece of Rolex history! The information I've found on this particular Rolex is very interesting!
It's a 1954 Rolex Submariner (Brevet) Ref 6205. It has the original dial, hands, bezel and always been serviced. It's been kept in a safe and worn sparing. One owner who was a world traveler. Here is some history facts to enjoy. The model submariners in production in 1953 and was presented at the Basel fair in 1954 to see. The number of cases was associated with a reference to this first Submariner either 6204 or 6205th It is unclear which model came first and in each case, the two watches are nearly identical. Neither has the property "cathedral" or "Mercedes" hands, is now so closely associated with the Submariner line. Instead the first two U-boats have the right to "pencil" style hands. Few, if any, of the 6205 watches with the name "Submariner" on the dial, an important distinction with modern divers. Some models have printed the 6204 Submariner logo below the center pinion, while others have the logo of the consciousness to lose. We believe that it must have been released unexpected problems related to trademark the name "Submariner" at the time in 6204 and 6205, for the improper use of the Submariner mark on these principles of divers account. Despite the signs of irregularities in the 6204 and 6205 Submariner models in the product documentation Rolex are designated at the time. The back of the original Submariner Rolex green sticker removed In 1954, Rolex has produced a small number of ref. 6200 divers. This was the first Submariner (although not the first Rolex) make use of the Mercedes to put his hand (a feature of all divers later). The 6200 also a large crown (compared with 6204 and 6205 models). In recent years, Rolex Submariner online its production of 6536 (small crown) and 6538 (oversized crown has revised models). These watches had "improved" movements (the Cal. 1030), including a chronometer version in some 6536 models (named 6536 / 1), Mercedes hands on now with the Submariner logo and depth rating dial. In the 1960s, these models gave way to 5508 (small crown) and 5510 (large crown models.) These principles are both "Submariner Gold (6200, 6204, 6205), or gilded silver / (6536, 6538) brilliantly under pressure black mark. radium paint was used for the light index

LOL...no...
Right now, it's housed in my Rolex Collector case along side a Model 163030 DateJust (Pre-OysterQuartz case), the 1952 Explorer IV 52 and a '71 GMT Master 1675 Pepsi. I feel like a kid in a very expensive candy store...

Hello Donald:
Congrats on a historic and classic piece you got there! I wish you will enjoy wearing it from time to time. I enjoy my own 5508 (a less valuable reference historically speaking, but charming too) and my only concern about using it daily, is the risk of being stolen. Otherwise, it´s a pleasure to have it on my wrist. Enjoy in good health, and thank you for sharing it! Kind regards, Abel

With all the research I've been doing...this model along with the 6204 were practically experimental...so extremely rare and few examples were even developed.
