Is the RSC going to make me swap bezels?
so I have a datejust 16233. from the model number it's supposed to have a fluted yellow gold bezel, but it was swapped out with a smooth rolex bezel by the previous owner.
I'd like to take my watch in for a dial swap, since there is no lume left. however, if I take it in to the rsc with the smooth bezel, will they make me purchase a yg fluted bezel to bring it back to spec (even though it is a rolex bezel)? thanks |

Rolex cannot make you do anything you don't want to do if they say it must be returned to factory spec just refuse. There are many independents watchmakers that could do the work you want Bob Ridley and Dalton Toledo
both excellent and TRF members.

You are fortunate if the SF means you live in San Fran..
The San Fran RSC over on Post Road is an independent and doesn't need to follow the strict Corporate Rules that NYC and Dallas do... Take it there and talk to them about what you want...........

sweet this is what I hoped to hear. I will take it to them and see. I just wanted to be prepared, if they were going to take the bezel and make me exchange it I would put on a cheapo knockoff bezel before I head over.

Great watchmaker there as well---Giovanni. I have seen two watches he did-both were vintage pieces and both came out super nice!!!

They don't have much problem taking hands from a tritium watch and replacing them with new luminova hands. As long as they are original Rolex parts I believe RSC could care less about their color.
