IWC Big Pilot (Steel and Gold) - Thoughts?
I tried on the IWC Big Pilot in rose gold at a Tourneau store today in S. FL. and fell in love with this watch. Although the gold is out of my price range, and not really my taste, the stainless steel looks great in pictures. At 46mm, the case looks wonderful.
I haven't held the stainless steel in my hands yet but am curious about everyone's thoughts. Anyone own one or familiar with it? Thanks. Below are a few links with pictures of this fine piece. I donīt own one, but played with it a number of times... The SS is a great watch, and Ive been close to buy one several times. The reason why I havenīt so far is I find it just a little too big for my wrist, so I got the Big Ingenieur 7-days instead.
But itīs dangerous to try on the gold one first, cause you might find it difficult to get used to the much lighter SS later on...;) |

I own the SS BP and absolutely love it. It has the feel of quality craftsmanship and the weight is nice.

I like everything about this piece except the crown and the riveted strap. Of course the strap is an easy fix, but that crown just does not appeal to me at all and detracts from the overall look of the watch IMO. Oh and I for sure think it's overpriced as Thomas & Aivas47a stated...LOL!

I have the regular Chrono Pilot in SS (3717-01)........I almost pulled the trigger on the Rose Gold one....one of the most beautiful watches I've ever seen . Go for it if the Big Pilot looks good on your wrist!!!!!
