Hi everyone, I am new to the forum but have been doing a lot of reading of old posts attempting to learn about the brand. I have decided that I really really really want a white dial 3 6 9 AirKing as my 1st ROLEX.

I had Date-just of my wrist at local AD and size was good, they did not have AirKing to compare, Will I miss the 2mm reduction in size? The watch would be for daily wear and I have other sport watches that are larger Omega SMP bond at 41mm is as large as I go on my 7 Inch wrist anything larger just will not sit right for me, personal preference i guess.

Am I wrong to wear this as my everyday watch? is it to dressy.

I know that the OP has a 369 dial at 36mm but love the history of AirKing and have chance to get good deal preowned

thanks for any thoughts you have to share

Also if I decide to purchase new can anybody recommend a good AD in North jersey/NYC

Don´t worry. I weare watches with a diameter of 42mm and change back to the Airking without problems. My wrist is 18cm.

Airking is a good choice.

Don´t worry. The watches looks much bigger on the pictures compared with my wrist in real.

Methinks the ewer AKs wear bigger, what with fatter lugs and bracelet with less tapering.
Bigger than older Air Kings. AK is a great choice. I wish they still made a stick dial, though.

White dialed 3-6-9 AirKing is an excellent choice. If I had to do it all over again I think I would have picked an AirKing as I really don't need the date, GMT, chronograph etc. I have a friend who years ago for Christmas from his mother received a beautiful two tone AirKing Date on a croc strap. Wouldn't mind the smaller size either.

Reading is helpful, but you should visit another AD and try on more watches.

i will not buy untill i have exact watch in person on my wrist, I may have to take a ride to another AD

My wrist is 6.3 inches and my ak looks perfect on it. It all depends on wrist size and personal taste. Definitely try it on and check it out first to be sure!

Ok, thanks for the helpful input. Dropped by the AD today and had white dialed 369 on wrist. It's perfect size. Gunna pull trigger on it after wife gives the ok. Should have it by end of the week!!!!!

Very nice! I think it is always helpful to try on the watch first, given the price of the purchase and accounting for individual taste.

Air King wears large as it is all dial. If you're in Boston you shouldn't have a problem getting up close and personal with a Air King to see for yourself.

agreed, the dial makes it seem bigger than it is, going from 41mm omega smp to 34mm airking, i dont miss any size diffrence the dials are very close to the same size.

I certaintly dont see or feel the diffrence between the 34mm AIRKING and 36mm OP .. Just my 2cents.

My 1st Rolex was a SS/YG Air King Date. Wore it everyday for 14 years. Great watch!

Rolex will not give you the exact production date, only the year..

I would go for the OP 116000, you really notice the 2mm difference.

My wife has an Air-King and I just can't see myself wearing it...

THANKS TO ALL FOR THE HELP! I have been wearing my new AirKing for about 4 days now. the size is perfect! its smaller than other watches but on the wrist it just looks "correct". I was impressed with the dial lume very nice visibality at night, extreamly happy with purchase, and the information I got on TRF was awsome, some pics.

On my wrist the AK looks absolutely anemic, however my 36mm Explorer and DJ are just right.

I've seen AKs on some wrists that make the watch look very large, but mine isn't one of them

It's purely a matter of your size and your preference.

The AK is a great watch in my opinion for those who are lucky enough to have it fit them well.

I am same as you 7inch wrist. I wear my air-king everyday and my sub not so much. The new style Air-king at the Ad's post 2007 are great redesigned clasp and thick lugs wears more like a 36mm from the old style date-justs. Get one of these and it will be all you need from Rolex.
