I like it because of the design, the history, the GTGs and most of all I won't be bored on looking on it because I can change the straps hundred times, that's what I call a watch hobby.

I remember seeing a 176 that my friend owned, and it was luv at first sight. So first and foremost the design and presence and look on the wrist.

I like it because of the design, exclusivity, popularity, strap-ability and "hype".

I'm currently favouring the base models with ETA movements.

When I saw my first Pannie 5 years ago I was into Rolex and thought the Panerai was way too big and too ostentatious. A few buddies bought a Panerai and it just grew on me.

Once I bought the 88 I was hooked on the size and the looks.

The only negative is 90% of them look the same to me with a few different options and unlike the Rolex I probably will never buy another model.

Its fast to change bands and each band gives the watch a new look.

I am 100% satisfied with my Panerai and glad I made the move to buy the 88.

I love them because they are classy without being too big and bulky, there is a plethora of strap options, and an entire community like this one devoted to Panerai itself. I am sorry that I just had to sell mine due to family issues, but another one will be had this year.

Funny thing is I didn't know much about Panerai until I saw one of my friends wearing a fake one and at the time I didn't know it was fake and I was like WOAH..that's such a clean, simple, and beautiful watch. From that point on I have made it one of my missions to own one.

Well i am going against the grain here, and say i am not fussed on the design of the Panerai watches,but am not saying they arn't a nice watch. I just prefer the design of Rolex and have done for 46 years.

It's definitely a choice and style preference. Personally I have never been a Rolex fan. I know a lot on the board like to have both styles in their collection. They are timeless watches for sure but just never personally did it for me.

Truly unique design, Interesting brand history, Super easy to read, Strap versatility is great fun and one watch does feel like multiples w/ each different strap.

For years I looked and looked at the Panerais and whenever I tried one on it always seemed too big and bulky, but not heavy to wear. But I also loved the unique look even though I had a couple of different Rolex models. So, in 2009 I bought a Pam 88 and I feel in love with it out of the box. No regrets.

And now I'm on the hunt for a Rad GMT like a 184 or a 355. Anyone have recommendations which of the two is the better watch or which model has the better movement? Am also digging that both models are 42mm. Thanks!

Yup....how crazy is that...finally went and put on the real thing yesterday to make my decision between the 111 and 312.
