Top 40mm Panerai?
So I have had a bunch of Rolex watches over the years, but never a Panerai, I have only had one 44mm watch I liked on my wrist and still eventually got rid of it. I think I would have to stick with the 40mm versions that are out there. If I were looking to get one, what would be some of the more interesting 40mm versions that are out there?
Thanks for the help and feel free to give some wristshots |

what size is your wrist, just keep in mind it may be harder to sell if you ever flip it.
I think the Pam 241 looks very nice. |

PAM 48 is the best of the 40mm bunch if you ask me. Sorry no wrist shots though.

Thanks for the advice so far and my wrist is just 6.75"....I am thinking of going on the "Super Size Me" diet, just so I can get some better watches

I actually find the length from lug to lug to be the dimension that bothers me the most with my wrist, 50mm and under from lug tip to lug tip is best

PAM 183 is 45mm but doesn't look as big as other Panerais.

I'm really liking my PAM 51-
I like the "quick change" system that lets you switch from the bracelet to a strap super fast! White dial's different too... Good luck on your search!

This one pam 48, but flip it after six months and went to the 44mm Pam 177. I also got 6'5 wrist but the the titanium 177 is as comfortable as my Rolex datejust and Explorer II.

I bought a PAM048 a few years ago at the height of "big" watches, I just could not get comfortable with a 44mm watch. At this point I am glad I made the 40mm choice. Keep in mind that these watches have presence on the wrist due to their height along with their width. I have 7.5" wrists.

I have a PAM48. I'll put it this way -- it is my regular-wear watch, which I am wearing probably 75% of the time, maybe more. It has to compete with a Rolex Explorer, Omega Speedmaster Pro, and a very nice Baume & Mercier (I swear, it's the nicest men's watch they've made for years IMO!) I love each and every one of these watches, but the PAM48 -- well, I just haven't found anything I like more. :)
Brace yourself -- half the fun of being a Panerai owner is collecting straps! I just ordered my third Mario Paci (water-resistant black calf w/ black stitching.) |

I agree with Corporate - get a Ti model like the 176 or 177. The Panerai DNA is about 44mm and up. I doubt there will ever be a 40mm base if one hasn't come out yet, Panerai releases 8(!) new 47mm models at SIHH recently, no new 40mm pieces as far as I know.
There are some very nice 42mm Radomir models that might be worth some consideration as well. |

reallllly nice!! any wrist shots? i once tried on a 312 and thought it was HUGE, but, apparently, you get used to it...... i'm not a flipper, so, not being concerned with re-sale value, i think maybe a 40mm is more my speed. dunno.....the 111 haunts me..... |
