Off To RSC Dallas

I am going to have my Z serial, engraved rehaut Exp II opened up for the 1st time to confirm the 3185/3186 movement. Leaving the office now and hope that they can accomodate my request as I wait.

Cannot understand why what will you do if it has a 3185 or 3186 ??.A very simple test just turn one full crown turn on the 3186 will turn 8 hours on hour hand, while on the 3185 around 5 to 6.Just cannot see any point in getting the back off any watch if it don't have a mechanical problem.

I simply wanted to get confirmation on the movement. I plan on selling this piece so that I can acquire a 16610LV and thought it might be helpful for those interested in purchasing it. I was informed that they would only perform this service if I agreed to a $150 fee and was able to leave it with them for 7-10 business days. I decided against that and thanked them for their time, very nice people I might add.

padi56, OK just did my due diligence and researched the do it yourself method based on the hour hand/crown rotation and got the 8 hour rotation. The reasoning for originally hoping to have the case opened up for a peek was only due to the fact that I could actually drive over to the RSC and have it done there by them, I wouldn't have taken it down to the local jeweler for this purpose. I guess by seeing all of the photos of opened cases I lost regard for the integrity of the unit. The famous 'Good Initiative, Bad Judgement' scenario.

Well your watch has the slightly modded 3185 into a 3186 and if any watchmaker has the correct case back tool getting the back off is a 2 minute job.
