My old DJ (1601) is not original and I have no idea of how it looked when it rolled out of Rolex in the '70s. It has no lume on the dial only a little on the hands - the lume lasts about three minutes.

Hey Bo Bo - great link thank you very much.

I wouldn't change it Daren. That is an awesome dial.

I normally spare my DJ on formal occassions and not used at night as my tritium dial has minimal lume and the hands no longer have any. I'm keeping my DJ as original as possible as I've learned my lessons on my first Rolex the 14060.

It had the tritium T<25 dial and I butchered it to have the swiss made dial. Never again.

Typically wear the DJ when wearing long sleeve dress shirts but still happy wearing the DJ for sportier occasions too.
Sometimes the "BIG" watch thing is a hassle. Sometimes it's fun. That's why the 40mm Rolex tool watch is the perfect size overall IMHO. But always happy and surprisingly enjoyable to sport the DJ.
I can only guess the new style jubilee would make it even easier to love.

40mm is ideal.Have a look at a 42 or 45mm Planet Ocean.Even for me at 1.88m and 104kg,the size is rediculous. The SD looks small against those two and feels much better on the wrist.

If you want lume:

1. strap on one of those gorgeous pannies you have, one marker in a panerai has more lume then all the markers in a rollie but together...

2. Buy a $3 glow watch at walmart

3. Alarm clock

If nothing else, think of the puppy,... damn he is cute

Is the puppy a Rottweiler or a Dachshund?

Well summed up m8!

At least for the time being, I am going to leave it as is. I do have a new watch due in anyday so that one will have plenty of lume for me.
