GMTIIC de-blinged!
Well, having made the commitment to the GMTIIC a week or two ago, I was knocked out by the styling, the quality, the upgrades of the new model... everything, in fact, bar the PCL's. Yes, I know a lot of people like them, and I know the GMT is not longer what one would call a tool watch. However, I just don't like bling, and I don't like scratch-magnets.
I was aware of someone who had carried out some work for others I know, particularly one who had suffered similarly with his GMT. It didn't take too much thought, therefore, for a decision to be made and - a week later - I now have what for me is the perfect watch. Please don't bother telling me that Rolex watches have to be left as they were when shipped to the AD; not unlike the arguments regarding bezel insert swaps, it's almost like accessorising - we're talking about the bracelet, not the watch. And in my opinion it should always have been this way.

It won't be to everyones taste, but they seem to have done one of the best jobs I've seen on here!
Enjoy and wear in good health!

If I were to buy the GMT-IIc this is exactly what I would do as well. I agree this watch should never have come with PCLs in the first place.

Looks way better, nice work! I would have purchased one when they came out if they came that way.

Yes, the links can be easily polished back to a shine, but they won't be by me! And the guy who did this - a member of the TZ-UK forum - is really very, very good.

Well done!
I agree. This is how the bracelet should have looked like from the start. Best, A |

Leaving the thumb indent and coronet polished was a carefully considered decision, after much discussion with the guy that carried out the work. I thought it added a little interest to a large expanse of brushed steel.

Looks good. Did you do it yourself, or have it done. Good job!
I have no regrets of removing the PCL's on my GMT as well. -Sheldon

looks very cool. i'm new here, so i don't want to make any enemies, but as a longtime rolex lover, i've got to say that this beats the heck out of polished links - at least for this watch. and i love that you left the little bit of bling underneath the clasp fingernail catch. i think that's very cool!

im quite surprised to see loads of people liking it - there is nothing wrong with that imo btw......
but seriously... how many current SS GMTIIC owners here on TRF would do the exact same to their SS GMTIIC? |

I love it! I would have never thought to have that done but now I'd never have one without having it done!
