1954 Oyster Perpetual

Hi Everyone,

I recently joined TRF but read a lot of the very informative information posted here before joining. I also recently bought my first Rolex...a very vintage '54 Oyster Perpetual. I think every Rolex model has its own unique appeal and I really like the simple, classic design on many of the vintage pieces. The patina on the original dial of this one grabbed me. Thanks to Jacek Kozubek and Steve Mulholland for taking time to look at some seller pics and giving their valued opinion on authenticity and to many other TRF members whose posts helped me avoid the pitfalls of the buying process. There's an amazing amount of Rolex expertise on this forum.

Very good looking watch. I don't remember ever seeing the spelled out "Rolex" on a dial before. Congratulations.

Thanks Steve. I also liked the raised letters in "ROLEX" although it's not quite as noticable on the wrist since the case is 34mm excluding the crown.

I just bought a 1956 oyster perpetual 6564. Looks very similar and what i loved was the simplicity and the 1030 movt. I beleive thats what they had in the early subs. nice watch truly beautiful.
