Why cant you get a SS Daytona with:
A black Panda dial????
Could you buy a ss daytona and have a panda dial swapped into it?? I guess I could save for the next 5 years and buy a white gold one but then knowing myself I would never wear it. It would spend all of its days in a safe and brought out only for special occasions... |

The panda's are pretty sweet. Then again so are Daytona's. Period.

Lets say obtaining the dial is fairly easy, how would you go about having it inserted? Am I right in thinking Rolex would be hesitant in inserting a dial designed for Gold models into an SS one?

It can and has been done, the only question is the price of the dials. When you add on the price of it, it might make more sense just to buy a TT model and get some discount on it

How much do you think the TT model like this could be had for? I really don't like it as much but I guess I now consider the WG Daytona with the Panda my holy grail. |

Well, over here, the retail on a TT Daytona is a bit under £10000 now, but you could get a decent amount of discoun on it, maybe up to 10%. I bet you could get a better discount in the States though. By comparison, the Steel Daytona is £7000 - the only issue is that I don't know exactly how much the dial would go for. I seem to recall they have gone for $1000-1500, but whether that's right or not, I really don't know. If those prices were accurate, you'd be looking at essentially the same price for a standard TT model with the correct dial, or a modified SS model
