Hi all, after puchasing my new explorer 214270 (which came in the smaller type box) I noticed a couple of pictures on here of new explorers in the larger type box.

I questioned this with my AD and they said I'm more than welcome to swap the boxes over!?

Would anyone of you do this and does anyone know which size box the new explorer should come in?

when I bought my watch I was on a waiting list and they shipped the only available model from one store to another.

My explorer booklet does not fit in the smaller box either - is this nornmal?

Can you please take a picture of your box and let us see what it looks like, or is it the picture in your signature? Because if so this is the first time I have seen a Rolex box like this.

Those are the "famous" Rolex sand bags in his signature.

The smaller box is proper for Stainless Steel models; so you have the correct box..

The booklets do not fit, or go in the inner box. They just get put in the outer box with everything else....

OK thanks for confirming. I still have the choice of swapping though. Would you do this?

If you think your watch is going to run/look better on your wrist, I'd say go for it.

Its just a box, a packaging box, and would doubt if it would make any difference to the main bit your watch which size box you have.

If you have the option of getting a bigger box I would suggest to get the bigger box as when you decide to sell the watch you can get more money. And its a better box.

If you believe you'd resell the watch sometime in the future, a correct box set might help your price - otherwise it's a personal preference.

I'd go for the bigger box.
More impressive and you can store your books at the back like this.
In the future should you sell your watch with the bigger box no one in the world will hate you for it.

I'm not sure that I would see the point in changing a box....... you don't wear the box - it just sits and takes up space.........

There are a lot of members though who seem to be obsessed with a "complete, correct package", and if you have the wrong box, then it may be complete, but it isn't correct.........

X2 Larry. To many so it seems the box is more important than the watch ,so one packaging box is 6 inches the other 7 inches wow,my box is bigger than your box..

Thanks for your replies guys.

I just wanted to check I had the correct size box as I had seen the new Explorer advertised here on TRF for sale section with a larger presentation box.

This is my first Rolex so I just want to make sure I have the correct item upon sale.
