I don't own a PAM but if I were to get one, it would probably be the 111. Not a fan of busy dials and PAM's cyclops.

the 88 has been very popular for Panerai..
with that being said...the 111 is probably the way to go for me as the clean classic dial is all PAM

The 88 is nice, but if you want to stay close to the PAM DNA, go with the 111.

Tough one. As mentioned, it depends if you like the gmt complication or prefer the cleaner dial.

Good luck!

ditto. 111 would be a great choice.

was considering a 88 at one stage, but the busy dial and cyclops sort of put me off. (to me, cyclops = Rolex )

Thanks for the thoughts....I understand how if one wants to stay true to the PAM DNA one has to go 111, but the 88 looks great, too. I like the detail of the silver dial. But, the cyclops point is pretty persuasive....don't know of the inverted cyclop's effect is for me.

No matter what, it cracks me up to think so many people think all PAMs look the same. There are some real hard choices to be made!! I feel the pull of the dark side, LOL.

I'm a fan of the cleaner dial and no cyclops.

Had both. Girlfriend took 88. I like the cleaner dial better - but I am a fan of silver or gold hands on a Panerai - I do not like the black hands of the 111.

The 111 fit better as well - at least it seemed to on my. The auto movement of the 88 seemed to make it shift to one side on me. Might just have been my imagination.

Pam 88

I just purchased a new Pam 88 last month after considering a used 237 ghost, but opted for new over a used model. I love it so far, and it is my only non-Rolex watch that I own.

All I can say, is that if you're choosing between a 111 and 88 that you have good taste...

I have the 112 which I choose because of the simple dial. I did not want all the clutter of the 88 etc. Just my 2 cents. both are beautiful though.

Had them both...

111 for me...cleaner dial, easiest to strap up, closer to the brands DNA...

88 dial is too busy, cyclops is whack, never could find the perfect strap for it.

Here's my opinion:

111
88 > 104
320 > 312
233 > 270

Both are great watches, but take notice the 88 have a polished CG...

I'll take 88!
