I did a bad thing...
...just got it back. Here is what it used to look like...
and now it has all the gears cleaned up, pressure tested, timed, overall cleaned up with some slightly larger hands from another model! Picture quality isn't the best. Just quick and dirty from my phone. When I first saw it I was quite surprised how much larger the hands looked. I wasn't very excited at first, but the more I stare at this thing....I'm really enjoying it. Granted, I've only had it for about 1/2 an hour now! So shiny! I wonder if the hands just look bigger because they don't blend in with the dial as much. Oh well, this is completely reversible and a cheap fun mod to do! I'll try and take some better pics soon as well as some lume test shots. I'm pretty sure the c3 superlume is going to match perfect!

Congrats Mik...looking good...the gold is tops...
just a quick question..were those hands from 232? They do look a bit larger on your dial..but then again your dial doesn't have the 3rd hand.. enjoy!

They are not OEM, but I did a ton of research to find the best aftermarket ones. These use the exact same luminova Panerai uses (c3 superlume). From my tests, the lume matches perfectly. I'm guessing these hands were designed for a 47mm case. At first I was taken aback by them, but I'm actually liking the beefy hands more now. The minute point reaches almost to the very edge of the indice and the hour hand, right to the tip. I'm diggin it. We shall see.

Thanks guys. That is 5/5 so far. I know there are some here that don't like mods. Well, I'm not one of them!

I like the contrast. I feel like I've seen this done before.

Glad you got your watch back Mik but please don't be offended......
I think I preferred it before?!? As long as you're happy mate that's all that matters of course.

Dude. Now I really want that 232 I've been drooling over.
So my new strap is in town and I just need to go pick it up. But, yeah, no watch to throw it on. $hit!

I'm pleading Switzerland on this one bro. I'm neutral to it but that could change one way or the other if I saw it in the wild.
Good luck scoring that. |
