The watch has a regular NATO on it and you can see the keeper strap pulled back a bit.
The strap on the right is a regular NATO and the keeper is pulled away so you can see it, this is the part he cuts off. The strap in the middle is an RAF pattern that does not have a keeper strap, so it sits a bit lower and the buckle is centered on the bottom of your wrist.
