Chicago or Dallas Lug Polish
I have a WG DD that needs a ding polished out of a lug. Should I ship to Dallas or do you all think I can just walk it over to Chicago Service Center?

Does the Chicago RSC have the same polishing machine as RSC Dallas?
If they don't....don't take any chances, have RSC Dallas or NYC do it. Just my dos centavos.

he's kind of a rolex watch guru,if you talk to him, you'd probably have him do your service.send him an email,he'll call you and discuss your watch service needs.he also does service on watches that aren't supported by the manufacturer anymore.

Its up to you, but I elected to walk over to Chicago RSC rather than ship to Dallas or NYC. Turnaround time is weeks faster, you can chat with them in person about what needs to be done beforehand, no shipping risks, and they have a solid reputation. The price should be around the same whichever you choose.

Chicago (Sutter's) did a nice job on my GMT. Came back looking almost like new. The only catch was that I found out later their warranty isn't transferable. Probably won't be selling that watch in the next 2 years, but it would have been nice to know that in advance.
So, for small adjustments, bezel insert changes, etc I'll continue to use Chicago. They were nice enough to resize my sub-c for free. For big jobs, its off to Dallas. |

I dont see why Dallas would be any better than Chicago. They should have the same equipment and there watch guys should have the same training. I realize some techs are better than others but its not like you even know which tech is going to service your watch. I would go to Chicago and be very clear what your wants and needs are ahead of time.
