Should I wear my Deepsea outside?

Though it's probably been discussed before, I'm interested to know how many people throw caution to the wind and actually wear their Rolex outside of the home.

After a couple of beers and whilst wearing my DS, I once opened my front door and very nearly took a step onto path. Luckily, my wifes quick thinking saved the day and she managed to drag me back in.

But can it be that bad?? I know some of you crazy cats even remove stickers from the case and bracelet so you must be up for a bit of fresh air too??

I'm just a little worried journeying outside could well affect resale values and also attract unwanted attention from neighbours or the postman.

I'm pretty sure my garden would be safe in that respect, however, I would obviously ensure I wore a long enough cuff and avoided all human eye contact.

I'd be really interested in hearing peoples experiences (if any)

1. How far away from home did you take your Rolex?
2. Did you dare wear it, or was it in a travel case (rigid or soft)?
3. Did your watch suffer visible damage or shrinkage?
4. Did you feel vulnerable?
5. Did you collapse or feel faint?
6. Would you do it again, now your watch has lost 93% of it's resale value?

My 9 year old son and I await your response!

Personally I would not recommend wearing it outside
. The ceramic bezel is prone to scratching ;)

- That's why some of us choose to live on the coast! Easy access to fresh sea-water!

If you take it outside, make sure to take pics of it with your rare coin collection so we have proof.

Yes, wear your DS outdoors as long as you have with you a really big and badass Cujo dog.

Only wear it when diving to at least 2500m. Is it normal for the stickers to peel off underwater? I cannot believe the stickers on such an expensive watch will come off by themselves underwater!

How much loss would I make on re-sale value for each missing stickers?

Rolex is making a RRDSSD (Really Really Deep Sea Sea Dweller) just to overcome this problem...

Are you sh****g me?

Rolex has made a very fine and delicate timepiece with the DS, I think you should give it to your smart wife. She can then give it to you when she feels its safe, and ask you to return it when not. While you´re at it, then also give her your manhood

Well guys with quite a few posts lately in the Rolex watch forum which is a forum for serious discussions about Rolex watches in general plus the history of Rolex. Many posts lately would be more suited for the joke forum,we all like a bit of fun but lets keep one forum for serious Rolex topics if you please.

Never EVER wear your DSSD (nor ANY Rolex) outside.

In fact don't wear it.

Just let your 'stocks & shares dealing five year old' keep buying them then put them away for safe-keeping.

Hello,

I hear you - I totally understand your concerns.

I actually have a similar sort of anguish to you. I am feeling more and more consumed with the worry that if I fall asleep with my watch on in bed that I might turn over in my sleep and squash it!!!!

Brilliant Post but sadly enough I don't think everyone realises, still?!
