"NEW" grey listed watches??
Hey everyone, I've been getting advice from everyone here and I'm about to make my first purchase (*probably this weekend*) and I have one more question! I have been to my local AD and have my eyes on a TT Sub and a TT Yacht black MOP...They said they can discount by 10% w/no tax...I thought that seemed fair enough but I'm not sure if that's the norm. Then I came across a seller on ebay, TOP-NOTCH WATCH, and although I am VERY skeptical about buying a Rolex on ebay because all the fakes out there, he has 100% feedback, all of which are almost all Rolex sales. My question is, he has some watches that are "New" never worn and the prices are about $2000 off what an AD would charge and also no tax. He says he has all the paperwork, including the original receipts. I assume that because I wouldn't be the original owner, the Rolex warranty would be void? Also, does this sound legit to get a new never worn watch that was just purhcased several weeks ago for thousands less??
any suggestions would be great!! Thanks!! |

I couldn't find the ebay user "TOP-NOTCH WATCH" or "TOP-NOTCH_WATCH" or "TOP-NOTCHWATCH".
There is a user TOPNOTCHWATCH, 635+ feedback but has not sold since October 2006.

Found it. Topnotch-watch.
The prices are not particularly keen, though the SD at $4200 seems a good buy. The Buysafe seal seems to offer protection up to $25,000 though I must admit I had never heard of it previously.

Holy smokes! Those geese in a few of those shots are less than 10 feet away from his hand. Brave man, this chap is...brave man.
I do like his marketing technique of taking multiple photos of the watches and in EACH photo there are quite expensive homes in the background. |

I have done some extensive research on him the past several weeks and also spoke to him over the phone a couple of times. He works for Channel 2 WGRZ news in new york and just sells watches on the side. I have not personally bought from him (yet) but I have spoke to several completely satisfied customers.

I wasnt looking at the 17000 yacht!! but the others seem to have good prices....the pics all look legit and with him giving his numbers and stuff it all seems pretty legit....and i have emailed some of his recent customers who all have had great experiences with him so far as they say....it just seems like a big savings for a new never worn watch??

I know someone who bought a watch from Scott and is vary pleased. We considered buying from him but found a Grey Dealer closer. You will not be sorry if you buy from Scott.

What kind of warranty does he offer? Can he service the watch if something goes wrong?

If I recall, you still get the 2 year Rolex Warranty since the papers are only dated, no name.

Doesn't buying grey void the warranty?

Not if you have dated AD papers with no name. Just like buying a used watch from someone with "open" papers. Some dealers only date the warranty and let the buyer fill in the name.
At least that is my understanding of how some Grey Dealers work. |
