Nope,
Mine is an Omega AT. A bit dressier than my GMT II, but still can wear it almost every day. Love em both.

First one was a Anonimo Militaire Chrono, then a Hanhart Chrono, then a Bell & Ross Carbon Chrono BR03-94 then my Rolex Sub ceramic...just got to sell the Anonimo and the Bell & Ross to pay for the Sub...:-) The Hanhart is staying...

I also have both Orange and Black Seiko Monsters, as well as 2 Omega 6B/159 RAF WW2 pilot watches....and a few cheap Rotarys for everyday mucking around in...and now I want another Rolex! :-))

ha! i knew somebody would ask that. of course it is. rolex gets a special dispensation.

maybe i should simply re-define it as any watch costing more than a grand!

Always wanted a Rolex, it was my first watch that cost more than $100.

16610
then
116710
then
PAM 111
then
PAM 210
then
Sold 116710
then
??????????? (to many thoughts to list)

So short answer, yeah, Rolex was my first.

The 1st "luxury" watch I bought was a Rolex......back in 1973, a 1655 explorer 2.
38 yrs. later, I'm still a Wilsdorf clan fan.

First a 16610. Second a Brietling Steelfish as a weekend beater. The Sub was getting way too many scratches and dings. Third a Zenith - I wanted an El Primero movement.

Started with Breitling's & IWC's before jumping into Rolexes. Prior to that, I had Seiko's & Tag's.

i knew i wanted rolex ever since roger moore's submariner (not connery), that was the watch i knew i had to have one day.

the journey took a while though..

i was wearing cheap watches, a sekonda i think my last cheap watch was.. then, i started wearing fake rolexes until i could afford to buy my 1st rolex- a 14060m sub, brand new from an ad in 2004 for £1970- that was a glorious day for me. since then, i have flipped for a 16610 then a 16613LN.. which now has a serti dial to be fitted.. next? a 16618.. then, i can start building a collection once i have "the daddy" (16618) lol..

My first luxury watch was a Tag, then an Omega Aqua Terra, then a Breitling, then a variety of Japanese brands - Seiko, Citizen, Casio - then was gifted a Rolex 16610LV and was done. :-)

It's interesting to see how many started with Tags. I guess they're great entry-level watches.

I think a young guy can carry off wearing a TAG easier than Rolex/Breitling/PAM etc.

when i was a kid a friend of mine introduced me to Tag. Before that i never heard of the brand. At that time i asked him what it was and he described it to me like this "its the kids version of a Rolex".

so i guess i can see the correlation from Tag to Rolex.

My first "luxury" watch, at least to me, was a Seiko Lasalle, when they were popular. My 2nd "luxury" watch as a nice 18k Rolex Date with oyster bracelet.

Yes, I saved for it and loved that watch. I sold it to buy a boat and now I have neither the watch nor the boat.
