All of my previous watches had dates. But as the previous poster mentioned, the date function ended up being superfluous. Having a desk job, the date is always in my face as I have a calendar hung up, not to mention cell phones, pc desktop displays, etc. I don't need the date at all to be displayed on my watch.
Right now I am thoroughly enjoying a nice clean symmetrical dial on my oyster perpetual and hopefully in the near future, a 14060m. |

I absolutely "need" the date feature on the watch. No date is a deal breaker for me. I dont remember to look at the calendar everyday. I sign a lot of vouchers, checks etc as part of my job and it is very convenient to look at the watch for the date.. so absolutely need a date.
Very much the only reason I have passed on the daytona and milgauss although they are beautiful watches.

Thanks...I'm actually a 36 year old watchmaker who's never worn glasses a day in his life. I can read your yellow text from 6 feet away. I have (had) two friends, one of whom has recently passed away who share (d) computers with other people and regularly read watch forums, and have (had) asked me to post in slightly bigger letters so that they (he) can see it since their (his) vision's blurred from chemo, and adjusting their (his) computer's not easy since it's a struggle to even stay up for more than a few hours a day. Again...thanks for the manly behaviour.

I need the date. I can look at it 15 times in a day and still if someone asked me the date I would have no idea until I looked again. Ask me about a job we did 22 years ago and I can tell you things right down to the slightest detail (I think ) so it must be the way my brain is wired.

Instead you call one individual "dude" seamingly oblivious to the fact that many perceive that term to be quite rude. When another user tries to point that out to you, you blast them for punctuation. You dont play well with others, do you? |

For my daily watch, it must have a date as i look at it multiple times a day to write down the date.

I had a no-date Air King I used for years and always had a regret that I did not buy a watch with a date. Now that I have one with my GMT, I can never go without one. I'm getting too absent-minded to ever remember today's date (it's always changing and that screws me up).

if not, why did you have to increase the size of your posts? surely you are able to tell which forum you are making post(s)/reply(ies) to. |

Then why arent you "time dependent" wearing a watch. There are other places you could look for time
