Tomorrow's the last day before the price increase, so...

...what should I buy, or to put it another way, what's the best deal?

Milgauss GV for about $6300, or;

18k yellow gold Daytona with leather strap and panda dial for 17.5K, or;

Old submariner with scrambled serial for $6000, or;

All of the the above?

Also, what will the new price be for the Daytona with leather strap?

Which watch do you like best? That should be your criteria, no?

The Milguass seems like a good deal, as does the Daytona if you have that extra cash lying around. I wouldnt get the sub if I were you, you could get a much better deal here or on ebay regardless of the price increase. Just my .02

If you plan to get them all and can afford it, get all of them. Most people can't do that, so get the one now that will save you the most.

I always treat the next purchase like it is the last watch I will ever get. I always get the one I like the most.

Thanks for the feedback. I guess it's a three-way tie.

I like them all and am a bit torn, obviously, and I was hoping that some of you would see one of these (or more) as being such a great value that I'd be a fool to pass it up, which might help me break the deadlock. I gather these prices are all in the ballpark, nothing to write home about.

Does anyone know what the price will be for an 18k Daytona with leather strap after the price increase? For some reason, I think that one is really going to be substantially higher, but I didn't see it listed in the new price list.

If the above mentioned Daytona is 17.5k retail, then a 8% increase will be......

Actually, that's the discounted price, but your point is well taken.

8% is going to be more money when talking of a 18k Daytona. I think I see where you're going with this. I also think that you have it in your mind to buy the Daytona but are hoping to get dissuaded.

Maybe I should stop the psychology and tell you that I love my GV and that's what I got. But, honestly, I couldn't even imagine having the dough to buy a watch that's 17k, investment or good deal or not.

What gets me is that a number of years ago I bought an 18k Breitling with gold bracelet for less than half that, and I could hardly imagine paying that much for just the watch. But given that was already a good discount and the going price is going up, I thought maybe everyone would tell me the Daytona was a screaming deal.

Guess I'll go with the Milguass as I already have an old TT Blue Sub, a Sea Dweller, and the new green dial LV. That's where I was leaning anyway, but I thought I'd see what you guys thought about it. Thanks all.

Are those of you voting for the sub saying it's the better value of the two at those prices?

I think the GV is the better value at 6300, but I would pick the watch I like the most out of the three. For me that would be the old sub.
