DJII or SUB C LV - Which one would you choose and why?

Hey Guys,

Contemplating a DJII Silver Dial with Arabic Numerals or Sub-C LV. I know they are completely different watches; DJII is dressy and a Sub C-LV is for sporty.

Which one would you choose and why? Thanks in advance.

Sub C. Mainly because Its more appealing physically. I also like wearing my watches 24/7/365. So All the time in the water, sauna, working out, etc etc. Also it can be worn in formal and informal occasions as well.

At this point I would choose the LV simply because I have a DJ. Can't go wrong with either though.

if its your only watch then probably the sub-c. its more versatile and you'll use it more often.

it can be used for 'dressy' occasions and still look good with suit and collared shirt. and be used as an every day 'tool' watch with jeans, t-shirt, shorts.

if you wear a suit 24/7, chose the dj, otherwise it is definitely the sub.

Subys go great with everything and anything you wear! Looks great in the Bday suit too! Well thats what my girlfriend tells me! ... I personally thought the DJ looked better on me in the Bday suit! But what do I know... She's the "So Called" fashion model!

Although the DJ2 is really nice, I prefer the Sub.
Sportier and more versatile IMO.
I came close to getting a DJ@ but in the end thought I would only end up wearing it on dressier occasions,
I think the SubC is better for everyday.
The ceramic bezel, glidelock clasp, no PCLs.......

Two totally different watches...I have both and love them equally but for totally different reasons...Do you want a diving/sport watch or a dress watch?

I think if you already own a Daytona, a Sub-C would be a nice addition to your collection. LV or LN, it's your choice, although I'd opt for the LN. More versatile, closer to its roots.

As for the DJII, it's an immensely good looking piece, although I never liked how the date is angled differently than the hour indicator arabics on the DJII concetric arabic dials. So I'd opt for a sticks dial instead, in white or blue.

BTW, do you have any shots of the Hublot? Maybe one where you have both watches on your wrist, next to each other? How do you like that watch, compared to the Daytona? (no, I'm not trying to raise a debate, just a friendly discussion)

The Sub is a classic, and the DJII isn't. If you love the DJII, buy it, but if the choice is between these two-- Sub, all the way.

I would choose DJ II but DJ II in a monotone silver colour doesn't look quite as right due to its size and enlarged bezel. DJ II look stunning in TT, I think if it comes with a Jubilee it will improve the look on an all silver SS DJ II. I would still choose DJ II anyway.

Sub C for me but depending on your collection I would grab an LN vs the LV as it goes with everything. The green does and will stand out quite a bit IMHO

The LV is not as versatile in my opinion because its... you know.. green.

Same here... I don't think the Green color Rolex chose is as versatile as the SS DJ2. I had them both in my hand the previous saturday and i passed up on the LV. I think it should've been a darker green for sure.

I have a DJII. DJ II is much more versatile than a LV SUB. If you want a SUB, you may want to look into the SUB-c LN. or the GMT ii c.

wow this is a tough one. IMO i would go for DJ II since i own a subc LN. but if i didnt have the sub the choice would be alot harder.

in the end i think the choice needs to be based on the use of the watch. if you find yourself using the watch more as a dress watch than DJII would be a great fit. but for all around useage i think the subc LV is the way to go. you really cant go wrong with either.

I think the Sub LV is more versatile. Looks good dressed up or out to play. I do not know how old you are but to me the DJII is symbolic of an older man, not that I am young, but I hope to live another 30 years at least. I hope I have not offended anyone just my opinion.

I would agree if you were referring to the 36mm DJ, but not the DJ2... I def think with it's new size, Rolex lowered the age demographics that would appeal to this watch by 15-20 yrs. It's a GREAT looking watch, especially in person. Pic do NOT do this watch justice with that beautiful fluted bezel!
BTW, GOTMPOWER, if you're referring to the DJ2 with the Rhodium dial and blue Arabic numbers, that a great choice!

yeah i agree. if you were reffering to the DJ 36mm i would agree with you that it's symbolic of an older man. the DJII was made by rolex to attract the younger generation, while still keeping the classic rolex look.

oh, and i'm 26. and i love me DJII
