Interesting idea, but not all that appealing to me...if I'm buying a luxury good, I'd like it to feel like a luxury good, including the presentation. If I was really concerned about my environmental footprint as it pertains to watches, I would only have one watch. The amount of resources that go into manufacturing, marketing, distributing and retailing a watch would probably make the box seem rather insignificant. That said, the designer's intentions seem noble.

I hate it.

Wood and leather are sustainable and if one is foolish enough to toss them they are biodegradable.

Atleast something in this hobby is sustainable... cuz collecting Rolexes at perpetually inflating prices sure isn't!!
