Anyone in favor of Rolex putting out a SS version of the Day-Date...

It's 2 close to the datejust/datejust II and it will kill the value of the gold one Eduardo...
But it would be nice to have

I don't think it'll happen. Rolex always make it a point the expensive ones can be distinguished readily.
No blue bezel Submariners in SS. No Daytona's with red hands/arabic in SS. No Day-dates in SS. However resourceful persons have changed bezels, dials and hands with success. It would be next to impossible to put a Day on a Datejust. Day-dates are the creme de la creme I believe. |

I think it's fine with it being only in gold/Platinum.

I like the idea a lot. But I'd be happy with a ss president bracelet option for the datejust.

I think a SS Day date with a simple white or black stick dial would be great.
keep the diamonds and fancy dials for the 18k / 950 models just like they do with the 18k daytonas etc.... |

Rolex did make a SS DD...
They made a number back in the 70's and gave them to Rolex employees for testing purposes with the stipulation that the employee couldn't give away or sell the piece and if they left the company they would have to return it. Needless to say a few did get out and I had the pleasure of handling one a few years ago at a GTG...

This is an example of one of them. I believe that it was probably made in the late fifties or so.

I believe you are correct about the date, sorry for my error.
The version I saw, I believe, had a Blue dial. I'll look at the pic when I get home. I cant post the pic as the owner requested that I don't. Sorry.

I wonder what kept Rolex out of introducing that model to the public...

So true. But, alas, I would get the president bracelet on my ss Datejust in a heartbeat. I could live without the day of the week displayed on my watch.

No need, the Datejust is much cleaner looking than the DD and already available in SS. I never understood the appeal with the DD, who needs a day indicator on a watch anyway? When was the last time you forgot which day it was? As always IMHO.
