The BIG 4 0 !!!

I've made it! I surpassed all those that predicted I wouldn't! And for my 40th birthday, my lovely wife purchased for me...

A new Submariner Datejust (116610LN), a watch I have been pining over and dreaming about for over 8 years. Pictures will follow!

Thanks go to my wife.

Congrats! On both the birthday and the watch.

You've not been dreaming about an 116610LN for over 8 years though, unless you're psychic!!!

Look forward to seeing it, and congrats again.

The submariner was the dream, then the GMT Master II. But once the Sub came out with the ceramic bezel, my decision was clear.

I like mine old-school but glad you've got your dream!

Sorry Speedo... I feel my tardiness has led you astray. Even though I agree May 26th is a great day, my b-day is May 18th! =) But yes, we do have great taste.

Thanks all for the well wishes.

Congrats. I bought myself a subC for my B-Day (today I am 42) as well but I gave it to myself a couple of weeks ago. I hope you like yours as much as I like mine

Congrats!

IMO the "Big 4-0" is nothing more than halftime. It gets better from here.

Oh and what a great watch (& wife too).

What about a birth year watch for someone who turns 40 this ear; would you go for a red Sub or the (the) newly issued Exp II? Or something else?

My wife thought I should wait until my 50th for my subc, and I disagreed. So I went out and bought it for myself! (why not get the extra few years of enjoyment out of it was my feeling). Happy belated birthday and welcome to the "club".
Cheers!
